Make in India a national programme, launched by the honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendraji Modi, on 25 September 2014, keeping in mind purpose behind the initiative to focus on various segments of the economy for employment and skill enhancement, to facilitate investment, promote improvement, enhance skill development, protect intellectual property, and build manufacturing infrastructure.With this vision Sipna College of Engineering & Technology, (affiliated to the Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University Amravati Maharashtra) in association with All India Council for Technical Education has organized the One Day Workshop on “ The Role of Budding Engineers in Make In India: The Mission” on 11th February 2016.
The function was inaugurated at the hands of honourable Shri Hansaraji Ahir, Union Minister of state for Chemicals and Fertilizers government of India. The function was presided over by Dr. Avinash S. Pant, Vice Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education, New-Delhi in the presence of Dr. Jaykiran Tidke, Pro-Vice Chancellor Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University Amravati, Dr. Venugopal K. R., Principal U.V.C.E. Banglore University, Shri Sanjayji Wayal, CEO IshVed Biotech Pvt. Ltd. Pune., Dr Ramesh Unnikrishanan, Directore, AICTE (WR), Mumbai. Shri Jagdishji Gupta, Chairman, Sipna Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Amravati, Dr S. A. Ladhake, Principal Sipna College of Engineering & Technology, Amravati. In the inaugural speech, honourable Minister focuses on the vision of honourable Prime Minister about the make in India mission. He insists on the need about increasing the productivity in India there by strengthening the Indian economy. He further expressed his concerned about the self employment and entrepreneurship by the engineering students. He assured about any help needed by the institute from the government in execution of such activities related to Make In India.
In the presidential speech Dr Avinash Pant congratulate the Sipna College of Engineering & Technology, for being the first institute in India to organise such event in association with AICTE. He also assured about further association of AICTE with Sipna for future programmes.
In his inspiring speech Mr Sanjay Wayal said how he turned from an IT employee to the entrepreneur in the field of biotech. Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr Jaykiran Tidke, congratulate the institute for organising such event.
Chairman of the institute Shri Jagdishji Gupta, express his thanks to AICTE for showing faith on the institute for organising such event. He assured all the stack holders about the institute’s role in future activities to convert the mission Make In India in to mission Made In India. Principal Dr S A Ladhake initially briefed about the complete programme. Dr Ramesh Unnikrishanan has expressed the vote of thanks in the inaugural fuction. In the post lunch session, various seminars from industry experts and academicians are delivered. Dr.Venugopal K. R., in his seminar on "Role of Budding Engineer in Make in India'' has given emphasis on students role in fulfilling the dream of Prime Minister about Make in India.
Mr. Sandip Zade AGM, TCEL, Mumbai, “Concept of "Smart City'' in make in India” He focused on the need of smart cities and how smart cities can be developed.
Mr.B.A.Damahe, Principal, L&T Institute of Technology, Mumbai, “Role of Academic Institution in Make in India”. In his talk, he briefed about the role of technical institutions in make in india. He focused on the various research idea for the academic institute. The initiatives for the copy rights and Patents should be taken by the academic institutes. In his interactive session on “Job Opportunities in Manufacturing Industry” Mr. George Vergese Sr. HR Cummins, Pune, has elaborated the role of manufacturing industries in make in India and explored about various job opportunities in manufacturing industries.

Along with the seminars various technical activities were also organised on 11th & 12th Feb under the technical fest Vidyotan 2016 based on theme Make in India. The goal of this event was to provide platform to the budding engineers and for encouraging them to deal with real world application and appreciate them for their good technical knowledge.
The events held on 11th were Contraption, Project Competition, Poster Presentation and Model Exhibition for School students.
